Liverpool and Chelsea target Milos Kerkez not up for sale in January

Bournemouth will block any move for star left-back Milos Kerkez in January, although a summer sale could be on the cards for the Hungarian.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea and Liverpool could be disappointed in their pursuit of Milos Kerkez in the January window. Bournemouth will stand their ground regarding the 21-year-old Premier League defender, as they are set to block any move for the Hungarian.

Milos Kerkez is a player on the list of every top Premier League club, and the Hungarian is making his presence felt with some tremendous performances for Bournemouth. Andoni Iraola has a well-oiled team that has risen to eighth in the table, and the Hungarian has played a key part in their success.

Bournemouth have lofty ambitions this season and will eye a probable European place at the end of the campaign. Hence, they are eager to keep most of their key performers at the club at least until the summer, when they will have the time and money to replace them with the right targets.

That includes Kerkez, who has a tremendous following of top Premier League sides like Liverpool and Chelsea. Bournemouth were reportedly thinking about selling him for at least £40 million earlier, but now they have changed their stance, as the player is not for sale anymore.

The Cherries’ decision regarding the 21-year-old Premier League defender will come as a big blow for Chelsea and Liverpool, with the latter already factoring in the idea of a summer move. Once the season ends, Bournemouth could face a fight to keep hold of the Hungarian full-back, as it will prove extremely difficult, especially if Kerkez continues to improve on his current form.

Milos Kerkez will leave Bournemouth in the summer

Bournemouth may struggle to keep hold of their top stars like Kerkez or Antoine Semenyo when the summer window opens. Arne Slot is already considering Kerkez as a viable target to strengthen their left-back position. There are long-term concerns with their current options like Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, and the Hungarian could replace one.

Chelsea are also keen to recruit young stars and are already thinking about bringing in competition for Marc Cucurella at left-back. Either side would be a good enough destination from Kerkez’s perspective, as he looks destined to make a big switch within the Premier League.
