Fluminense eyeing Richarlison move, establish contact

Fluminense will look to re-sign struggling 27-year-old attacker Richarlison from Tottenham next year, with the Brazilian club already contacting his entourage.

According to a report by Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, Richarlison is the subject of interest from Fluminense. The Brazilian giants are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. So, the struggling Tottenham forward has emerged as a target, with Tricolor Flu Fluzao already contacting his entourage and willing to invest a considerable sum to secure his services.

Richarlison and his Tottenham troubles

Richarlison has blown hot and cold since joining Tottenham Hotspur in a big-money deal from Everton in July 2022. While the South American attacker has shown flashes of brilliance in the last two and a half years, fitness issues and poor form have taken precedence instead of game-changing performances.

The 27-year-old has managed only 16 goals and nine assists in 73 appearances thus far for Tottenham Hotspur. He has more goals for Brazil (20) in fewer outings (48). Things have gone from bad to worse this season, with a hamstring injury restricting the former Everton attacker to only 173 minutes of game time across seven appearances in all competitions.

So, as the January transfer window approaches, the 48-cap Brazilian international faces an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A return to his homeland might be on the cards, with Fluminense keen on re-signing the player next year.

Fairytale return on the horizon?

Richarlison succeeded in staying at the North London club beyond the summer transfer window amid the exit links a few months ago. Saudi Pro League clubs have been keen on signing the South American forward, but a fairytale return to Fluminense might be what his career needs.

Brazilian clubs have seen an influx of big names this year, with Memphis Depay, Felipe Anderson, and Alex Telles moving to the country this year. In addition, recent reports have linked Gabriel Jesus with Palmeiras. Jesus’s compatriot might join him in his homeland, with Fluminense contacting Richarlison’s entourage.

In addition, the Brazilian giants are ready to invest a considerable sum to re-sign the 27-year-old forward as they look to secure his services ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. It will be interesting to see if his horrors at Tottenham will end next year by rejoining Fluminense.
