Chelsea ready to pay €60 million to sign Willian Pacho

Chelsea are ready to fork out €60 million to acquire the services of Paris Saint-Germain defensive sensation Willian Pacho.

According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea have made PSG defensive star Willian Pacho one of their priority targets. The Blues want to reinforce their backline and they are willing to go all out to sign the Ecuadorian international. The French giants do not have any intentions of parting ways with the youngster but the London club are looking to tempt them with a €60 million offer.

Pacho had an impressive season at Eintracht Frankfurt which helped him secure a move to PSG last summer. The 23-year-old centre-back has hardly taken any time to adjust to life at the French club. He has walked straight into their starting XI and has been a constant feature in Luis Enrique’s team.

He has earned quite a reputation for his ability to read the game, his physical strength along with his ability to play under pressure. His consistent performances for PSG along with his massive potential have attracted a significant amount of interest from across Europe.

Having signed him in the summer and handed him a deal that runs until the summer of 2029, the Ligue 1 outfit has no intentions of negotiating his departure. But, Chelsea are keen on his signature and they are preparing an offer that could make PSG reconsider their stance.

Maresca seeks defensive reinforcement

The Blues look like a completely different team under Enzo Maresca. They have been playing some attacking and attractive brand of football. It looks like the massive investments to bring in young stars are finally giving them the desired results.

While they are heading in the right direction, the Italian manager is not satisfied with the defensive options at his disposal. Maresca wants to bring in a new centre-back and they are looking at Pacho as an ideal fit for their project.

He can be a great addition for the short as well as the long run. As a result, the London club are ready to table €60 million to force PSG into thinking about a potential sale. While PSG have a firm stance on his future, a massive fee like this could help them bolster other areas on the pitch. The player is focused on the task at hand but with Chelsea pushing, this transfer saga is one to keep an eye on.
