PSG are reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old French international Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea next year.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, PSG have submitted an offer worth €60 million to sign 27-year-old Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku, and the player is reportedly unhappy at the West London club.
Nkunku has not been at his best since joining Chelsea, and he has struggled with multiple injury problems. Apart from that, the Frenchman has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the side as well. The 27-year-old will want to play regularly at this stage of his career, and moving away from Chelsea could be ideal for him.
It will be interesting to see if the Blues are willing to accept the €60 million offer from PSG. It is a substantial amount of money for a player who is not a guaranteed starter for them. It would be ideal for Chelsea to cash on him and bring him someone who will help them improve.
There is no doubt that the French international is a quality player on his day, but he has not been able to showcase his qualities in the Premier League. It would be ideal for him to move on and get a fresh start at PSG.
PSG need attacking reinforcements
The French outfit have struggled in the attack since the departure of Kylian Mbappe. They need to bring in attacking reinforcements, and the Chelsea attacker could prove to be a useful acquisition if he manages to get back to his best. The 27-year-old is capable of operating in multiple attacking roles and his versatility will be a bonus.
Nkunku is capable of slotting into the role of a winger, a centre-forward as well as an attacking midfielder. He will add goals and creativity to the PSG attack. Furthermore, the player is at the peak of his powers, and he could establish himself as a key performer for PSG if he can regain his confidence in the coming months.
It remains to be seen what Chelsea decide. They are currently second in the Premier League table, and signing a top-class attacker in January could help them finish the season strongly. They should look to grab the opportunity and bring in an upgrade on the Frenchman in January.
