Chelsea looking to muscle in on Geovany Quenda

Chelsea are looking to beat the competition with an approach for Geovany Quenda and potentially a compelling offer on Sporting CP’s table.

According to Caught Offside, Chelsea are eager to outmuscle the competition in the race for Geovany Quenda and beat Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United. The Blues are reportedly willing to make a compelling offer, which could test the waters and give a clear idea of Sporting CP’s stance on the teenager.

Geovany Quenda has made some clubs stand up and take notice of his performances for Sporting CP. The Portuguese club faces an anxious wait to see which of their current stars leave in the aftermath of Ruben Amorim’s departure, although in the 17-year-old prodigy’s case, they might look to keep him.

Amorim is keen to sign Quenda at Manchester United, and that could be seen as an idea to bring back a player the new manager is used to playing with. The need for a wing-back in their new system could see Quenda discussed in the corridors of Old Trafford, but there’s plenty of competition for the 17-year-old prodigy.

Arsenal are interested, while Liverpool are also signalling their intent to sign Quenda. Sporting CP have secured themselves with a new contract for the teenager, which comes with a €100 million release clause, as the Portuguese side will readily point towards the same if clubs come in with approaches in January.

Chelsea poses a big threat to interested clubs in the race for Quenda, as they are willing to outmuscle competition for the 17-year-old prodigy. The Blues are reportedly willing to make an offer of £60 million plus bonuses, which will be seen as a good enough offer to test the waters at Sporting CP.

Chelsea looking for a new winger?

Recent reports have pointed firmly towards Chelsea’s intention to sign a new right-winger, and they are now keen on adding Quenda to an exciting young project. The Blues are also linked with Patrick Dorgu, as either player is set to cost them a lot of money.

Quenda will have plenty of options in the market, although his decision will play a big role in determining the direction of this transfer story. At Manchester United, he might primarily come in as a wing-back, although at other sides like Chelsea, Liverpool, or even Arsenal, he could get his preferred role of featuring on the right wing as an attacker.
