Manchester United and Liverpool have both taken the first steps towards signing Atalanta midfield sensation Ederson.
Ederson is one of the most sought-after players in world football at this point in time. Some of the biggest clubs from across Europe have been linked with the Atalanta midfielder who could be on the move in the near future.
According to Rudy Galetti, Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool are both interested in the Brazilian’s signature and they have recently made an approach to sign him. The player is reportedly on the radar of Manchester City as well.
Ederson made a name for himself during a short six-month stint at Salernitana. His performances earned him a move to Atalanta in the summer of 2022 and he hasn’t looked back since.
He has done wonders for the Italian outfit and has been one of the best players over the last 18 months. He helped them clinch the Europa League title last time out and remains one of the first names on their team sheet this season.
Premier League giants make a move to sign Ederson
He prefers playing as a central midfielder but he is capable enough to be a number ten as well as a number six when needed. His versatility and consistency have put him on the wishlist of United and Liverpool who both seek more quality in midfield.
Signing a new defensive midfielder was a top priority for the Reds during the summer. Unfortunately, they couldn’t make it happen and their search continues. Ederson could help their cause and they are keen on adding him to their squad.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also looking to add more quality to their midfield. They will most likely undergo quite a few changes in the centre of the park as a few fringe players are expected to be on the move. Ederson is someone they admire. They believe the Brazilian could be a great fit in Ruben Amorim’s system and they are ready to invest in him.
Both Premier League giants have already taken a step towards signing him. They recently approached the Brazilian midfielder’s entourage to explore details regarding a potential move in January. While Atalanta won’t want to lose him mid-season, they will be open to bids over €50 million during the summer.
