Ajax want £30 million for Kenneth Taylor amid Aston Villa links

Aston Villa will reportedly have to fork out £30 million to sign Dutch midfield sensation Kenneth Taylor from Ajax.

Aston Villa are looking to add more quality to their squad during the winter transfer window. Unai Emery wants to ensure they have enough in their ranks to once again secure Champions League football. The Premier League outfit wants to strengthen the defensive side of things and they are interested in the services of Ajax star Kenneth Taylor, who can feature as a central midfielder as well as in a more defensive role.

According to a report from Football Insider, Aston Villa can secure his services with a bid of around £30 million. Taylor joined the Ajax youth setup back in 2010. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team in 2020. The young midfielder has only gone from strength to strength over the last few years.

The Dutchman has established himself as one of the first names on the Eredivisie club’s team sheet, and his performances have attracted a significant amount of interest of late. The 22-year-old is capable enough to play in a variety of positions. While he prefers playing as a central midfielder, he can feature in a defensive role and can even start on the left flank if and when needed.

Aston Villa want to sign Taylor

In the ongoing season, the Dutch youth international has been involved in 22 games and he even has 10 goal contributions to his name. His consistent performances have put him on the wishlist of Aston Villa. Emery loves working with versatile players, and he feels Taylor could be a great addition to his squad.

Aston Villa have struggled defensively, and the youngster could be a great option in front of the back four. But, the West Midlands outfit won’t find it easy to prise him away from Ajax. The Dutch club are not keen on sanctioning his departure and with his contract running until the summer of 2027, a potential transfer will cost around £30 million.

To ensure they have the finances needed to get a deal over the line, Aston Villa are looking to sanction the departure of fringe players during the upcoming winter transfer window.
