Chelsea set to hand Mykhailo Mudryk another lifeline

Chelsea vs FC Noah: Preview and Prediction.

Enzo Maresca is all set to hand Ukranian international Mykhailo Mudryk another opportunity to revive his Chelsea career.

According to a report from Football Insider, Mykhailo Mudryk will be given a chance to play for his future at the club during the festive season. With games coming thick and fast, the Ukrainian forward will have enough opportunities to become an important part of Enzo Maresca’s plans.

Chelsea forked out a massive £88.5 million to Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk at the start of 2023. The 23-year-old was considered one of the best young talents in the world and the Blues gave it their all to beat the competition and land him at the club.

While they succeeded in bringing him to Stamford Bridge, things haven’t really gone according to plan for Mudryk at Chelsea. He has showcased glimpses of the talent he possesses but he lacks consistency.

The appointment of Enzo Maresca and the subsequent arrival of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho have seen the young winger go way down the pecking order. While his contract at Chelsea runs until the summer of 2031, the lack of minutes has resulted in a lot of chatter about his future.

Mudryk to get a lifeline at Chelsea

Multiple top clubs are keeping a close eye on him and could launch a move to sign him in the winter. But, before the Blues listen to offers for one of their most expensive signings, Maresca looks all set to hand him an opportunity to save his Chelsea career.

The majority of the 23-year-old’s minutes this season have come in cup fixtures and he even has seven goal contributions in those games. With a game almost every three days in the next months, Mudryk will have enough minutes to make a mark and break into their Premier League starting XI.

If he can get together a good run of games, Chelsea could decide to keep him in their squad as Maresca feels he could play a big part this season. While the Blues are open to a potential exit in the winter window, they will only let him happen on their terms.
