Victor Osimhen unlikely to join Newcastle United in January

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray, and he has been linked with a move to Newcastle United.

According to a report by Football Insider, Newcastle United are keen on Victor Osimhen, but the player is unlikely to join them in the middle of the season. The development will come as a major blow for the Premier League club. Apparently, Napoli will demand huge money for the Nigerian international, and that will complicate any potential move.

The 25-year-old was linked with multiple European clubs during the summer transfer window, including Chelsea. However, Napoli held out for a substantial amount of money, and the move did not materialise in the end.

The Nigerian striker ended up joining Turkish outfit Galatasaray on loan towards the end of the window in Turkiye. He is expected to leave them soon, and it will be interesting to see if Newcastle United can get the deal done. The Magpies could certainly use more quality in the final third, and the Nigerian would be an exceptional acquisition.

The 25-year-old was regarded as one of the best strikers in the world a few months ago, and he helped Napoli win the Serie A title last year. There is no doubt that he could transform Newcastle United in the final third.

The Tyneside outfit have been overly dependent on Alexander Isak for goa;s and creativity. They need more support in the final third, and signing another reliable striker would be ideal. It will be interesting to see if they can sign a quality player in the coming months.

Chelsea keen on Osimhen

Osimhen has been linked with Chelsea as well, and it will be interesting to see if the Blues come forward with an offer to sign him. Nicolas Jackson has done quite well for Chelsea this season, but the Blues need more depth in the side.  Signing another quality striker would be ideal, and it remains to be seen whether they can get a deal done for the 25-year-old in the near future.

The Napoli striker will look to sort out his long-term future quickly and focus on his football. The opportunity to join a big club like Chelsea could be quite attractive for him. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
