Manchester United are all set to battle it out with arch-rivals Manchester City for the services of Croatian gems Martin Baturina and Petar Sucic.
Martin Baturina and Petar Sucic have had an exceptional rise at Dinamo Zagreb, and they now find themselves on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in the world. According to a report from TBR Football, Manchester United and Manchester City are both keen on securing their signatures and have been monitoring them for a long while.
Baturina has come up the ranks at the Croatian club, and he got promoted to their first team back in 2021. Meanwhile, Dinamo Zagreb signed Sucic at the start of 2021. He started with the B team but got promoted to the senior side six months down the line.
The 21-year-old Croatian duo has only gone from strength to strength over the last few years, and they have managed to establish themselves as an important part of the Croatian national team.
Baturina has had an exceptional start to the new campaign. The attacking midfielder has been involved in 17 matches and he has contributed towards nine goals (2 goals, 7 assists). Sucic has also been on fire in the ongoing campaign. While he plays as a number six, he still has five goal contributions in his 17 outings.
Both midfielders’ current contract with Dinamo Zagreb runs until the summer of 2028. However, the Croatian outfit will struggle to keep hold of the duo for long as the biggest clubs in the world are preparing to make a move for their services.
Manchester giants to battle for Croatian duo
Both Manchester City and Manchester United have been tracking Petar Sucic and Martin Baturina for around 18 months. They have been doing their homework on the Croatian duo ahead of a potential move in the near future.
Manchester City have one of the best scouting networks, and they are constantly looking for the best young players. Meanwhile, the new part-owner of Manchester United is looking to focus on bringing in young players who can help them in the long run. Having signed a few young stars in recent windows, the Red Devils could now look to add the Zagreb duo to their ranks.
The Manchester clubs will face significant competition from other English clubs as well as a few clubs from Germany for the signature of Sucic. Meanwhile, they will have to battle European giants Barcelona and Real Madrid for the signature of attacking sensation Baturina, who is often compared to Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric.
