Jurgen Klopp could end Barcelona, Chelsea, and Liverpool’s efforts to sign Senegalese teenager Amara Diouf from Generation Foot.
According to Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Jurgen Klopp has set his sights on Senegalese teenager Amara Diouf and wants to bring the young prodigy to the Red Bull setup. If the German succeeds in his quest for the 16-year-old African prodigy, then the move will come as a blow for the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea, and Liverpool, who are keen to bring the Generation Foot talent.
Generation Foot has created some notable talents over the years, including Ismaila Sarr, Pape Matar Sarr and Sadio Mane. They might have the next big star on their hands in Amara Diouf, with the 16-year-old African prodigy now firmly in the sights of some top clubs in Europe.
Barcelona, Chelsea, and Liverpool are among those keen on the teenage sensation, and they could make their moves in advance. However, to comply with footballing rules in Senegal, the teenager will only be allowed to leave once he turns 18, which could lead to a battle for his signature between those clubs.
Liverpool and Chelsea are always looking for prodigious talents to build for the future, and Diouf is indeed rated highly by observers of both clubs. Barcelona are also interested and had been before the summer window. But so far, the 16-year-old African prodigy remains tied to Generation Foot.
One exciting thing about Generation Foot is that they have a longstanding agreement with French side Metz. As part of this deal, the Ligue 2 side has the upper hand to bring their players and then develop them, as seen with many others in the past. However, in a bid to deal a blow to all those interested sides in Diouf, Jurgen Klopp could play spoilsport with his new role with the Red Bull group.
Klopp wants to sign Diouf
Klopp is now the head of soccer for the Red Bull group, which consists of many clubs worldwide. The main focus will obviously be on the ones on European shores, namely Red Bull Salzburg, RB Leipzig, and the latest acquisition, Leeds United. As for Amara Diouf, he might already have had a set pathway to Europe via Metz, although Klopp may now try to cut the middleman and bring the teenager directly to Salzburg.
His attempts might turn futile, as Generation Foot will uphold their agreement with Metz. However, given the French side are in Ligue 2, it does become more accessible for the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona or Klopp to sign the 16-year-old African prodigy in no time from Metz in the near future.
