Jonathan David dreams of Premier League move amid Chelsea links, open to joining Juventus

Jonathan David has aspirations to play in the Premier League with Chelsea interested, although he does not rule out a move to Serie A.

According to Calcio Mercato, Jonathan David will take his time before deciding on his next club as he continues to dream of a Premier League switch. Many English sides are keen on the LOSC Lille striker, available for free next summer. Chelsea is keen, while Juventus are also part of the chasing pack.

Jonathan David is in no rush to decide on his future as he continues to shine for LOSC Lille in what increasingly looks like his final season with the French side. The Ligue 1 side has tried their best to renew his contract, although the 24-year-old seems destined to leave on a free transfer before next summer.

A host of Premier League sides are keen, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United. The Blues, in particular, are keen as they have needed a new striker for some time and even tried to sign the Canadian last summer, but Lille’s asking price may have scuppered any move.

Ahead of the following summer window, Chelsea are already watching David and would be eager to jump ahead of the queue to sign him. The Blues have many names on their list, and now the 24-year-old’s insistence on moving to the Premier League might boost their chances ahead of next summer.

Chelsea are an attractive destination for any player, let alone the 24-year-old Canadian, although bringing Champions League football to Stamford Bridge will boost their chances of signing many top players. As for David, he might be open to the idea and will probably even listen to what other English suitors offer. While he’s keen on a switch to the Premier League, he also remains open to the idea of playing in Serie A.

Juventus will rival Chelsea in Jonathan David’s chase

Juventus are one of the clubs chasing David on a Bosman move, and such a deal would essentially suit the Bianconeri in their bid to add a proper strike partner for Dusan Vlahovic. The 24-year-old Canadian could also be viewed as a potential replacement for the Serbian, although Thiago Motta will want them to play together.

AC Milan were keen earlier, as they have bowed our owing to his financial demands. Now Juventus may have the upper hand over Serie A sides. David seeks a lucrative move to his next club, and if Juventus are willing to pay him a hefty signing-on bonus and a competitive salary, they might have a big chance to usurp Chelsea in the race for the 24-year-old Canadian.
