Chelsea and Manchester United have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior.
According to a report from Fichajes, Vinicius Junior has turned down a contract renewal offer from Real Madrid. With the Brazilian international not keen on extending his stay at the Spanish club, European giants are considering making a move for him.
Vinicius came up the ranks at Flamengo. He was already a massive name in world football as a teenager and his impressive rise had put him on the radar of multiple top clubs. Los Blancos forked out a significant fee to sign him back in the summer of 2018.
While he struggled to get going in the initial years, the 24-year-old has established himself as one of the best forwards in the world with consistent performances in recent seasons. The Flamengo graduate bagged 24 goals and 11 assists last season.
He has had a flying start to the new campaign and remains one of the first names on Madrid’s team list despite the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. While his contract at the club runs until the summer of 2027, there has been a lot of talk about his future of late.
Los Blancos want to secure his long-term future with a new deal. But, the Brazilian is not keen on putting pen to paper. He has reportedly turned down a contract renewal offer which has sparked interest from clubs across Europe.
Vinicius to move to the Premier League?
Chelsea and Manchester United are two Premier League giants who would love to have the 24-year-old in their squad. The Blues have turned things around under Enzo Maresca. They have started getting the desired results and the attack has been doing most things right.
But, the London club still seek more firepower and they feel Vinicius could be just the perfect fit for them. Manchester United are looking to revive their attack and they feel the 24-year-old could perfectly complement the forwards they already have in their squad.
With him refusing to sign a new deal at Madrid, both Premier League clubs have received a massive boost. The report suggests the decision might be because he wants to try a new challenge elsewhere or because he seeks an even bigger check. As things stand, the Spanish giants do not want to sanction his departure but the player’s decision could have a big say.
