Aston Villa will soon hand new contracts to Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey, with the decision-makers keen on rewarding the duo for their positive performances.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey might soon sign new contracts at Aston Villa. The Villans want to reward the “two key stars” for their recent positive performances, and the duo will receive a “significant pay rise” from the West Midlands club.
Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey: Making their mark at Aston Villa
Morgan Rogers has taken no time to establish himself as one of the best young prospects in the Premier League. The 22-year-old was at Middlesbrough this time last year, kicking off his spell with the EFL Championship club on a high. The youngster was not with Boro for long, with Aston Villa signing him only a few months after he joined the second-tier outfit.
The Englishman has been solid in the first few weeks of the 2024/25 season, chipping in with two goals and three assists in 12 appearances across all competitions. As for Jacob Ramsey, the youngster spent his entire youth career with Aston Villa, joining the West Midlands club as a six-year-old in 2007.
The 23-year-old progressed through the ranks at Aston Villa before making his first-team bow in February 2018. However, Ramsey has recently seen speculation surrounding his future. Aston Villa mulled over cashing in on him in the summer transfer window due to the implications of the Profit and Sustainability Rules. However, since then, his fortunes have turned around.
What next?
Aston Villa will look to tie Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey to new contracts, with the duo set to receive a “significant pay rise”. Recent reports have claimed that Rogers and Aston Villa are already discussing fresh terms. The winter 2024 signing has been excellent thus far for the West Midlands club while earning a new contract.
As for Ramsey, the 23-year-old Englishman remains a target for Premier League bigwigs, including Chelsea and Tottenham. The two London clubs want to bolster their offensive departments. So, the versatile Aston Villa prospect is a viable target for Chelsea and Tottenham.
It is unclear if Chelsea and Tottenham can convince Ramsey to part ways with Aston Villa and move to London. However, it will not be surprising to see the academy graduate and Rogers sign new contracts with the West Midlands club in the coming weeks.
