Chelsea keen on Manchester United flop Antony

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of €95 million Manchester United flop Antony.

According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea are considering making a move for Antony. The London-based club are aware of the Brazilian situation at Manchester United and they are looking to make the most out of it.

Antony made a name for himself while playing for Ajax. His sensational rise at the Dutch club along with his huge potential resulted in a big-money move to Old Trafford. The Red Devils forked out €95 million to add him to their roster.

While the Brazilian winger has showcased glimpses of the talent he possesses since the move to United, he has never really reached his true potential. The 24-year-old Brazilian winger’s contract at the Manchester-based club runs until the summer of 2027 but recent development suggests he won’t be around for long.

Erik ten Hag has already been shown the exit door and they have also decided to get rid of one of his biggest signings, Antony. While he had an important role in the first team in the initial years, the Brazilian international has gone down the pecking order at the club.

He has been on the pitch for just 27 minutes in the Premier League and has racked up 155 minutes of first-team action across five appearances. With him no longer an important of their first team, Chelsea are looking to make the most out of it.

Chelsea plot a move for Antony

The Blues have made an impressive start to the new season but they seek more quality in the final third of the pitch. With the future of players like Mykhailo Mudryk uncertain, the Lonon club are looking at Antony as an interesting candidate to strengthen their attack.

Since United are ready to sell, the Blues might be eyeing a cut-price deal for the 24-year-old. They do have enough options in the final third of the pitch but Antony could bring an x-factor to their game. Chelsea seem to be ready to bet on him. It could be a great opportunity for the Brazilian to get his career back on track after struggling to get going at Manchester United.
