Arsenal, Liverpool front-runners to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would reportedly prefer a move to Arsenal and Liverpool if he were to leave Napoli next year.

According to TBR, Arsenal and Liverpool are considered the front runners for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, as the attacker would prefer either of those Premier League sides. The Georgian superstar is in line for a new contract that could include a hefty release clause, which would be in the region of £100 million.

Napoli does not want to lose Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the same way they did with Victor Osimhen. In the latter’s case, he signed a new deal back in January, which included a mammoth release clause, which none of the interested clubs were willing to match.

Kvaratskhelia is much younger than the Nigerian striker and does have a promising future ahead, meaning Napoli is within their rights to want to cash in big on the Georgian. However, they are fearful of losing him less than their projected valuation of the wide attacker, which could see them ramp up contract talks in the coming period.

While there were reports that Kvaratskhelia was close to signing a new deal in the summer, the agreement has not materialised yet. Napoli would have demanded £100 million to sell him if any parties were indeed interested, but none were planning on spending that much on him.

Hence, there’s a likelihood of Kvaratskhelia signing a new deal that would quadruple his current wages, as he’s one of the lowest-paid players in that Napoli squad. The new contract might come with a hefty release clause in the region of £100 million, which would ensure the Serie A side will probably get their money in the market.

Kvaratskhelia prefers Arsenal or Liverpool

Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly approached Kvaratskhelia in the summer, but the £100 million-rated attacker was not for sale. Napoli considered him untouchable, and that might be the case even in January, although the summer window is when things could change hands.

There’s another interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United, although the lure of Arsenal and Liverpool could draw Kvaratskhelia towards them. He reportedly prefers a move to either one of those clubs, which will now probably come down to which one is willing to pay up for the £100 million-rated attacker.
