Juventus, Napoli rival West Ham United for Ben Chilwell

Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham United are ready to rival Juventus and Napoli in the race to the services of Chelsea outcast Ben Chilwell.

According to a report from TBR Football via JuveLive, West Ham United have entered the race for the services of Ben Chilwell and the Hammers are all set to rival Italian giants Juventus and Napoli in the race for his signature.

Chilwell was the Chelsea vice-captain last season but a lot has changed over the last six months. The arrival of Enzo Maresca has seen him go down the pecking order and with his struggling to stay lifted in recent years, the Blues wanted to get him off their books during the summer.

The London club tried everything in their power to sanction his departure as he was not a part of Maresca’s plans. Even after the window in England was over, they explored opportunities in other countries. But, things didn’t go according to plan.

He has only played 45 minutes of first-team football so far this season. The 27-year-old left-back is yet to feature in the Premier League and he was left out of the Europa Conference League squad which makes it quite clear that is isn’t an important member of their squad.

The battle for Ben Chilwell’s signature

Chelsea are ready to sanction his departure and the player also seems ready for a new challenge. Juventus and Napoli are two clubs who are well aware of the situation and they are looking to make the most out of it. Both clubs are eyeing a cut-price deal with the winter transfer window fast approaching.

The Old Lady seeks defensive reinforcement while the Naples-based club want more quality in the wide areas. Both Italian clubs feel Chilwell could do wonders for them but they will have to move fast to secure his services and the competition seems to be increasing with every passing day.

West Ham United have emerged as a potential destination for the English full-back. The London club want to add more quality as well as experience to the backline after a poor start to the new season and they feel Chilwell could be a handy signing.

The Hammers are eyeing a long-term loan deal of around 18 months. A formula that could convince Chelsea as the player’s deal runs until the summer of 2027. West Ham appears to have the upper hand, offering him a long-term loan deal and the convenience of a fresh start without the need to relocate.
