Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly tracking the progress of 20-year-old Italian midfield whizkid Niccolo Pisilli at Serie A club AS Roma.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Niccolo Pisilli has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, especially in the Premier League. Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring the progress of the 20-year-old AS Roma midfield whizkid at the Serie A club.
Niccolo Pisilli is the latest highly-rated prospect to rise in prominence in his homeland. A native of Rome, the young midfield prospect has spent his formative years in Italy. He began his youth career at ASD Helios before joining AS Roma in 2012, progressing through the ranks at the Serie A club in the last dozen years.
The 20-year-old broke into the first-team squad at AS Roma towards the end of the 2022/23 season but had to wait until the ongoing campaign to become a regular for the Giallorossi. Pisilli has turned out ten times thus far for the Serie A club while chipping in with two goals. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, alerting high-profile clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur.
It is unclear why Chelsea might want a player like the Italian midfielder, considering Enzo Maresca has a stacked midfield unit in his squad. Nevertheless, Pisilli is on the West London club’s radar, with the Blues keeping tabs on his progress at AS Roma. Other midfielders like Georgiy Sudakov are also on Chelsea’s radar.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in Niccolo Pisilli is understandable. While the young midfield whizkid is primarily a box-to-box midfielder, he can also reprise a more defensive role. So, the AS Roma midfielder has emerged as a viable target for Liverpool, considering he can play alongside every midfielder at Anfield.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, it is unclear how Pisilli might fit into the scheme of things unless they offload Yves Bissouma or Pape Matar Sarr, which seems unlikely. Nevertheless, the 20-year-old AS Roma midfielder is a target for Tottenham, with the North London club closely monitoring his progress.
