Christopher Nkunku could push for Chelsea exit

Chelsea vs KAA Gent: Preview and Prediction.

Christopher Nkunku could look to part ways with Chelsea in 2025 if he fails to break into their starting XI.

According to a report from Football Insider, Christopher Nkunku is frustrated by the lack of game time at Chelsea and he is considering his future at the club. The French attacking sensation could push for a move away from Stamford Bridge if he fails to become a regular at the club.

Nkunku made a name for himself while playing for RB Leipzig. On the back of his consistent performances for the German club, the Blues forked out £52 million to sign him in the summer of 2023. He was expected to be their next start forward but things haven’t gone according to plan for him.

Injuries kept him on the sidelines for the majority of the 2023/24 season. While he is back fit, he has only had limited game time so far this season because the other attacking options have been doing wonders for Enzo Maresca.

Nkunku could leave Chelsea

Nkunku has seven goals in his 11 outings but only one of those has come in the Premier League. Having started only one out of his seven league appearances, the 26-year-old attacking midfielder is frustrated by the lack of minutes.

He has been linked with a return to Paris Saint-Germain where he kick-started his career before joining Leipzig. But, Chelsea do not seem to be ready to sanction his departure. Enzo Maresca and the club chiefs feel he still has an important role in the team and will get plenty of opportunities in the coming months.

The player seems to have some different ideas. His contract at Stamford Bridge might run until the summer of 2029 but he could take matters into his own hands next year if things do not improve.

The versatile attacker is not happy being a backup option at the club. If he doesn’t start matches on a regular basis, the French international will push for a move away from the club. It could be a massive boost for PSG who have been closely monitoring his situation for a while now.
