Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United eyeing Igor Jesus

Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United are all interested in the services of Brazilian attacking sensation Igor Jesus.

According to a report from Fichajes, Igor Jesus could be heading to the Premier League as Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United are all keen on his signature. The trio are monitoring the Brazilian international ahead of a potential move in 2025.

After spending a significant amount of time playing for Shabab Al-Ahli in the Middle East, Igor Jesus returned to Brazil in the summer. The Coritiba FC graduate joined Botafogo and he has made an impressive start to life at his new club.

The 23-year-old striker has seven goals and an assist in his 19 outings. The young forward’s consistent performances resulted in him getting called up to the Brazilian national team for the South American World Cup qualifiers.

He made his debut against Chile and marked the occasion with a goal helping his team secure a 2-1 comeback win. Multiple top clubs were already interested in the young striker and his performance on the international stage has made him the talk of the town.

Premier League giants want to sign Igor Jesus

While his contract with Botafogo runs until the end of 2027 and he arrived at the club only a few months back, Igor Jesus could still be on the move in 2025 as Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United are closely monitoring his progress.

The Gunners are believed to be the most interested of them all. Their director of football Edu Gaspar has been following his progress and feels the 23-year-old could be an ideal long-term signing for the club. They need an out-and-out goalscorer and he has the potential to be one.

But, they could face serious competition from the Magpies who are looking for someone who can be a backup to Swedish star Alexander Isak. While the Blues have been looking for a star striker for some time, they could look to invest in Igor Jesus as their other forwards have started to click under Enzo Maresca.

Botafogo have previously turned down €10 million and now with the player shining on the international stage, they will be hoping to raise around €35 to €40 million from his sale.
