According to Florian Plettenberg, Everton are considering signing Silas Katompa Mvumpa in the winter window from VfB Stuttgart. The 26-year-old winger is on loan from the Bundesliga team Red Star Belgrade, and his contract is complicated. He could be made available for €10 million in January.
Everton are likely to make a move for a new right winger in the winter window, and a few options have been linked with the Toffees lately. Sean Dyche feels the need to strengthen his attacking options and bring relief to the likes of Jack Harrison with another signing. They have a few options on the other wing, so that side may not be a concern.
Hence, a new right-sided attacker might be on the cards for Everton ahead of the January transfer window, with recent reports linking them with Miguel Almiron. The Newcastle United forward is coming to the end of the contract, and the Magpies might look to sell him on the cheap in the winter window.

Silas’s complicated contract explained
Silas’s parent club is Stuttgart, and on his loan terms, he is bound to return next summer if he stays beyond the January transfer window. However, Red Star Belgrade can sell Silas due to a €10 million release clause inserted in his contract. This will allow the Serbian club to cash in instead of the Bundesliga outfit. The reasons for this remain under wraps, but that is the case with the 26-year-old winger.
For further clarification, if a club triggers the release clause, Red Star Belgrade will receive the €10 million fee rather than Stuttgart. However, should the buying club look to sell the player in January, Stuttgart will be entitled to 10-15% of that fee owing to a sell-on clause they have inserted in the loan deal with the Serbian outfit. Hence, there is a likelihood that Everton might have to pay €10 million as they may not be able to sign the player for less.
