Manchester City, Manchester United vying for Harlan Perry and Brogan Popham; Arsenal, Tottenham also keen

Manchester City and Manchester United are both interested in signing Swansea sensations Harlan Perry and Brogan Popham.

According to a report from the Mirror, Manchester City and Manchester City are all set to battle it out for the services of Harlan Perry and Brogan Popham. The Swansea youth team duo have already made quite a name for themselves and quite a few clubs from the Engish top flight are interested in their services.

Perry who plays for the Welsh Under-17 team is only 16 and he cannot pen down a professional contract until he turns 17 in November. Top clubs are monitoring the Swansea midfield sensation and could look to prise him away towards the end of the year.

Apart from Perry, the Championship outfit will also be fighting to keep hold of their defensive star Brogan Popham. While he is already 17, the Swansea Under-18 star is yet to sign a pro deal with the club. The duo are yet to break into the first team but they are considered huge prospects and have made a strong impression on scouts who have been monitoring their progress.

Manchester duo wants to sign Perry and Popham

Manchester City and United are two clubs who have had their representatives constantly track the duo’s progress. They have also scheduled meetings with their camp after registering an interest in their services.

Since neither of them has penned a professional deal yet and are still on scholarship terms, Swansea would be entitled to a compensation fee if they left the club in the coming months.

City have one of the best youth setups in the country and they will surely be an attractive destination for the duo. Meanwhile, United are looking to improve their youth recruitment drive under the new ownership and they will try to lure them to the club.

North London clubs monitoring the Swansea duo

While North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham have also registered interest in the duo, the Manchester-based clubs are the ones who are more serious about the pursuit.

Spurs have changed their transfer approach under Ange Postecoglou. They have focused on singing young stars and Perry and Popham do seem to be a good fit. Meanwhile, they could also be of great help to Mikel Arteta‘s team in the long run but for now, it’s Erik ten Hag vs Pep Guardiola.
