Cristiano Ronaldo wants his club Al-Nassr to offer Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne a massive contract to lure the Belgian in.
According to The Mirror, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly asked Al-Nassr to lure Kevin De Bruyne with a lucrative contract. The global superstar wants the Belgian star at his Saudi Arabian club and wants Al-Nassr to offer a deal worth £1 million a week to lure the Manchester City man.
Saudi Arabian clubs’ interest in top-rated stars ahead of next year is no secret. They have been chasing high-profile players like Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne. Things are changing in the Middle Eastern League next season amid reports of a new TV deal, among other things.
The availability of players like Salah and De Bruyne on a free transfer makes it imperative for Saudi sides to make their play and offer those stars a lucrative deal in the process. They even tried to get them during the summer, only for them to stay put at Liverpool and Manchester City, respectively.
The Belgian is already in the final year of his deal. Credible reports were linking him to a move to the Saudi Pro League in the summer, but he chose to stay put at Manchester City and fulfil his contract there.
Manchester City are working to get an extension in place, but that would have to be a big contract over his current lucrative deal. Whether the club thinks that is wise, given the Belgian’s recent fitness issues, remains to be seen, as talks have yet to move forward. Now there’s the idea that Cristiano Ronaldo wants De Bruyne at Al-Nassr and wants his club to offer the Belgian a too-good-to-refuse deal.
Cristiano Ronaldo wants a lucrative deal for De Bruyne
Ronaldo is easily the Saudi Pro League’s highest-paid player and still has a year left on his deal. He wants Al-Nassr to lure in De Bruyne on a contract in excess of £1 million-a-week contract for multiple years and improve the standard of football in the league.
The money might be too good to turn down for any player, although in De Bruyne’s case, he had previously commented that he does not need that level of crazy money. In any case, things do change in the background, as practically players tend to take up such massive offers, which, in this case, effectively more than triples his current wages at Manchester City.
