Arsenal will reportedly compete with Liverpool and Manchester City for 22-year-old in-form Borussia Dortmund Karim Adeyemi.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Karim Adeyemi is the subject of interest from Arsenal. Liverpool and Manchester City are also keen on signing the in-form Borussia Dortmund attacker. In addition, the 22-year-old versatile forward is a target for Barcelona and other European bigwigs.
Karim Adeyemi and his journey so far
Karim Adeyemi took some to find a stable footing after joining Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in a deal worth £32 million in July 2022. The youngster was a hot property during his spell in Austria but was slow off the block in the Bundesliga. However, he has finally started delivering the goods at Signal Iduna Park.
The 22-year-old has contributed to ten goals in eight appearances across all competitions thus far this term, finding the back of the net five times and providing five assists, including a match-winning hat-trick against Celtic in the UEFA Champions League. Meanwhile, Adeyemi’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, including Barcelona, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City.
A man in demand
The German international was on Barcelona’s radar for a long time before he joined Borussia Dortmund. While a move did not see the light of day, the continued interest in Adeyemi makes sense, considering Ferran Torres faces an uncertain future at FC Barcelona. As for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta wants an alternative to Bukayo Saka on the right flank.
So, Karim Adeyemi is a viable target for Arsenal, considering he can reprise any role in the final third. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in the versatile Borussia Dortmund attacker is understandable. With Mohamed Salah in the final 12 months of his contract with Liverpool, the Reds are in a spot of bother over his long-term future.
So, Adeyemi is an option worth considering to replace Salah. As for Manchester City, the 22-year-old can be the long-awaited replacement for Julian Alvarez, considering his ability to play across the frontline. So, the Borussia Dortmund forward is a viable target for Manchester City.
It is unclear if Borussia Dortmund will be open to parting ways with the in-form German forward if Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Barcelona approach them. However, the Bundesliga giants will likely demand much more than the £32 million they paid to part ways with him next year.
