Chelsea battle Arsenal, Real Madrid in Franco Mastantuono chase

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea will have to square up against Arsenal and Real Madrid for the services of Franco Mastantuono.

Franco Mastantuono’s exceptional rise at River Plate has resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. According to a report from CaughtOffside, Chelsea are keen on signing the South American attacking midfielder and they are willing to battle with Arsenal and Real Madrid to secure his services.

Mastantuono has come up the ranks at River Plate. He was promoted to their first team at the start of the year and the 17-year-old hasn’t looked back since. He has racked up close to 1,200 minutes across his 29 appearances for the first team and also has five goal contributions to his name.

While his contract with the Argentine club runs until the end of 2026, the teenager might not be around for long as top clubs from across Europe are closely monitoring his situation.

Real Madrid are one of the clubs interested in acquiring the young sensations’ services. Los Blancos’ new project focuses on young stars. While they already have some of the best young players in their squad, they are always on the lookout for players who can further strengthen their team.

Mastantuono has all the qualities to succeed at the very top and his versatility suggests he could be a great fit for the Spanish club’s first team. Ancelotti’s team are seen as favourites to acquire his services and they do have a massive advantage as they have already held talks with the youngster.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are also interested in the Argentine senations’ services. The Spanish manager is looking to build a team for the short as well as the long run and it would be some statement if they can lure Mastantuono to North London.

Chelsea to rival Real Madrid and Arsenal

While Real Madrid and Arsenal are both pushing hard for the youngster’s services, Chelsea are all set to rival them in their pursuit. The Blues have signed some of the best young stars from across Europe of late and the 17-year-old seems to be a great fit for their project.

They are scouting him ahead of a potential transfer and could soon knock on the doors of River Plate who are looking for around €45 million to part ways with one of the best players.
