Bayern Munich keen on tying Joshua Kimmich to new contract amid exit links

Barcelona, Liverpool, and Manchester City have received a blow in their pursuit of Joshua Kimmich as Bayern Munich are pushing to tie him down to a new deal.

According to a report from HITC, Bayern Munich are keen on tying Joshua Kimmich to a new contract amidst interest in his services from Barcelona, Liverpool, and Manchester City. The German international’s contract situation has resulted in interest from across Europe and Bayern want to ensure they do not lose out on one of their best players for free next summer.

Kimmich came up the ranks at VfB Stuttgart and made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances. He then ended up joining Bayern Munich in the summer of 2015 and has only gone from strength to strength since.

The 29-year-old has established himself as a key figure for both club and country and has played a massive part in their success with his exploits as a right-back and a holding midfielder. While he remains an integral part of Vincent Kompany’s team, his future at the club is uncertain with his deal running out next summer.

Kimmich had turned down an extension offer last season after being unsettled under then-head coach Thomas Tuchel. He agreed to stay at the club despite all the interest in him during the summer and seems to be enjoying life under Kompany.

European giants are pushing to sign Kimmich

Joshua Kimmich is ready to consider committing his future to the Bundesliga giants amidst interest from Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester City. Hansi Flick is a huge admirer of the German international and wants to once again work with him at Barcelona. The former Bayern Munich manager has already asked the Catalan giants’ chief to push for his services.

Manchester City, who recently received a massive blow as Rodri picked up a long-term injury, have realised they lack depth in the centre of the park. So, Kimmich could be just the perfect fit for them.

Liverpool were keen on signing Martin Zubimendi during the summer. They were close to securing his services but he decided to stay put and they are looking at Kimmich as an ideal alternative who will is all set to be available for free in around 10 months time.

PSG were also keen on signing him, but they have decided to blackout from the race as per a report from Caught Offside. It is a boost for all other interested clubs who can strike a pre-agreement with the 29-year-old in January.

However, Bayern Munich are trying hard to ensure they do not get that opportunity. The German club want to extend his stay before the turn of the calendar. They are pushing hard, and the 29-year-old utility man is ready to consider committing his long-term future to the club.
