Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United need to pay €80 million to sign Xavi Simons

Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United will have to fork out €80 million to sign PSG star Xavi Simons.

According to Christian Falk via VoetbalPrimeur, Xavi Simons is on the wishlist of quite a few top clubs following his impressive performances for RB Leipzig. The Dutch international doesn’t want to return to his parent club next summer and Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in prising him away from PSG.

Simons came up the ranks at the famous La Masia. He was already the talk of the town as a teenager and he shocked everyone when he ended up leaving Barcelona to join the French giants. He struggled to get going at PSG and a move to PSV Eindhoven helped him get things back on track.

The French giants re-signed him in the summer of 2023 and loaned him out to RB Leipzig. He had a dream debut season at the German club and it resulted in interest from Bayern Munich. The team in red tried their best to strike a deal for his services. But, they couldn’t get it over the line.

He has stayed at the German club for his second season, the 21-year-old attacking midfielder will have to return to his parent club next summer. However, he has no intention of returning to his parent club. Simons doesn’t want to play for the French giants.

Premier League giants want to sign Xavi Simons

While Bayern remain in the mix, the Dutch international could be headed to the Premier League where Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all keen on his signature.

Pep Guardiola’s team already have a star-studded squad but they need to freshen things up in the centre of the park. Kevin De Bruyne is in the final phase of his career and they see Simons as a potential successor. The 21-year-old could replace the Belgian international in the long run.

He is also on the wishlist of Manchester United and Liverpool who are both led by Dutch managers in Erik ten Hag and Arne Slot. The Reds want to add more firepower to their attack. With Mohamed Salah’s long-term future uncertain, Simons could become their next big star.

While Bruno Fernandes is only 30 and can still go for a few more years, Simons could support him in midfield and he could even chip in on the flanks when needed. Ten Hag would love to have a versatile playmaker who can have a massive impact in the final third of the pitch.

His contract at PSG runs until the summer of 2027 and they would demand in excess of €80 million to part ways with the Dutch star.
