A host of Premier League sides watched Atalanta midfielder Ederson in action when they played Arsenal in the Champions League.
According to TBR, Ederson had many watchful eyes on Thursday as he put in a man-of-the-match performance against Arsenal. The 25-year-old Brazilian international had scouts from the Gunners, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham watching him ahead of a future move.
Ederson watched by Premier League scouts
It’s not uncommon for scouts from significant clubs to set a watch on certain known players, and that was the case with Atalanta midfielder Ederson. The 25-year-old Brazilian international was in action in Bergamo when they hosted Arsenal in the Champions League, with the game ending in a draw.
Ederson was named man of the match following an excellent showing in midfield, as he even won a penalty that produced a wonder double save from David Raya. However, the 25-year-old Brazilian international has been growing in stature as more clubs are beginning to register an interest in his services.
Ederson was on the radar of Liverpool, while Arsenal and Newcastle United are also keeping close tabs with a view to making a future move. Tottenham are also considered in the mix for the star midfielder, as the 25-year-old Brazilian international is a suitable profile for Premier League sides.
Scouts from those clubs watched Ederson’s in action against Arsenal and will have returned with glowing reports following his brilliant display in midfield. Such vast interest will favour Atalanta as they will end up demanding significantly to sell the Brazilian in the future, although any salke might only happen next summer.
Ederson is making a case for himself
With the world at his feet, the Brazilian has grown exponentially under the tutelage of Gian Piero Gasperini, as he continues to show up with good displays on the pitch. There was sufficient interest in the summer, but a move never materialised. Another good season with Atalanta will surely bag him a big deal elsewhere, and until then, scouts are expected to keep watch on the midfielder.
Atalanta will have no problems selling if the price is right, as this is their business model as a football club. Arsenal and Liverpool are undoubtedly big teams that could turn any player’s head, as Ederson might want to join a club who are challenging for honours with regularity.
