Chelsea open to cashing in on Benoit Badiashile for suitable offer

Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile has been linked with a move away from the West London club for several months.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Chelsea are ready to sell Benoit Badiashile in the 2025 January transfer window. The French defender has not been able to hold down a regular starting spot since arriving from AS Monaco in a £35 million deal in January 2023. So, it makes sense for the Premier League side to sell him and invest in a player who can help them improve.

The former AS Monaco defender was highly rated in France before his £35 million move to Chelsea, and it will be interesting to see if he can join a big club in the coming months. There is no doubt that he could be a quality player with the right guidance. However, he needs to leave Chelsea in order to get his career back on track.

The defender has made just 35 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions since joining the club in January 2023, and he needs to play more often to fulfil his potential. Sitting on the bench at the London club will not benefit him right now.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea can find the suitable destination for him when the transfer window reopens in January. Getting rid of their fringe players will help the West London club raise funds which will in turn improve their squad. They were also ready to sell the Frenchman this past summer.

Chelsea should cash in on Badiashile

Chelsea will be desperate for UEFA Champions League qualification this season, and they will look to do well in the domestic trophies as well. Bringing in quality players during the January transfer window will certainly boost their chances of having a successful season.

Meanwhile, Benoit Badiashile is not the only player Chelsea are looking to sell in January, and a number of players, including Axel Disasi, could be on the chopping block as Enzo Maresca continues his Chelsea overhaul.

Further more, Chelsea have spent substantial amounts of money on new signings since the change of ownership, and they need to balance the books. If they can raise some funds by selling their unwanted players, it will certainly help them stay in compliance with the financial regulations.
