Manchester City considering €50 million move for Benjamin Pavard

Manchester City are considering making a €50 million move for Inter Milan mainstay Benjamin Pavard to shore up their backline.

According to Inter Live, Manchester City could show an interest in Benjamin Pavard next summer and make a €50 million move for the Frenchman. Inter Milan considers him crucial to their plans, although they might consider a significant offer in the region of €50 million or more that would economically benefit their plans.

Are Manchester City keen on Benjamin Pavard?

Manchester City have one of the most robust defensive setup in the continent, and equipped to win trophies with the defenders they have. Pep Guardiola will be a happy manager with the options he has, although there are a few questions to be asked about the longevity of certain players.

Man City’s backline is not flush with youth, as it’s the senior professionals who have taken on most of the burden during the long seasons. For instance, Kyle Walker will be 35 when the current season ends, and while he is showing no signs of slowing down, the club will begin thinking about a successor.

They have an interest in Ousmane Diomande from Sporting CP, as a few other top clubs are also chasing the Senegal international. This player represents a value for the future as he has a long career in front of him compared to a few others linked with a move, such as Benjamin Pavard. A €50 million transfer offer is under consideration.

Manchester City are indeed linked with Pavard, as the 28-year-old World Cup winner boasts a huge reputation across Europe. He’s a key star for Inter Milan, and when the two teams meet next week in the Champions League, Pep Guardiola could gauge the defender and obtain first-hand experience. However, should the links grow in the future, there will be questions asked about the club’s long-term vision.

Will Inter Milan sell Pavard?

Simone Inzaghi had to make a big gamble in the market with Pavard as he looked to replace Milan Skriniar when he left the club last year. The 28-year-old World Cup winner has proved his worth to the Italian manager, as he has become a vital part of the squad and regularly features in the starting lineups.

Now, on the question of whether Inter Milan will sell, they will probably consider a good offer in the region of €50 million. That kind of price represents a healthy profit for Inter Milan, considering they paid close to €30 million to sign the Frenchman in 2023.
