Chelsea reportedly remain keen on signing Victor Osimhen next year despite failing to secure his services this past summer.
Chelsea were extremely keen on signing Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window. However, the West London outfit failed to get a deal done, and he eventually moved to Galatasaray on loan.
According to Caught Offside, the Blues retain an interest in signing the Nigerian international and they are expected to make a move for him in the near future. The striker joined Turkish outfit Galatasaray on a loan deal for the remainder of the season and it remains to be seen whether he can impress in Turkey over the next few months.
Chelsea are in desperate need of a quality striker and the 25-year-old would be a quality acquisition for them. He is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in European football right now and he has helped Napoli win the league title recently. The player will be keen on joining a big club and the opportunity to play for Chelsea will be hard to turn down. Even though they have had mediocre seasons recently, they are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to play for them will be quite attractive.
It remains to be seen with Chelsea can agree on a deal with the Italian outfit once the striker’s loan deal with Galatasaray is over. The Blues have been over dependent on Cole Palmer for goals and creativity in the final third. They need more cutting edge in the attack and Osimhen would be an exceptional acquisition. The 25-year-old is at the peak of his powers and he will look to hit the ground running if he moves to the Premier League.
Osimhen would be a superb addition
He has already proven himself in Italy and he will look to test himself at a higher level in English football. Chelsea could provide him with the platform to showcase his qualities in the Premier League and in European football as well.
The 25-year-old scored 17 goals across all competitions last season and he could prove to be a major upgrade on players like Nicolas Jackson. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea can get the deal done.
