Brentford will demand at least £40 million to sell Bryan Mbeumo next summer, and a host of top clubs are expected to chase the Cameroonian.
According to Football Insider, Brentford are facing another situation in which they will have to sell one of their top players next summer: Bryan Mbeumo. The Bees will reportedly demand at least £40 million to sell the 25-year-old attacker, with Premier League bigwigs like Arsenal and Liverpool among those keen.
Brentford’s stance on Bryan Mbeumo
Brentford could be in for another tricky summer window in 2025 when they could potentially lose another one of their big stars. This time around, they had to reluctantly sell Ivan Toney to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli in a £40 million deal, as the striker had entered his final contractual year with the club.
The next in line for such an exit might be Bryan Mbeumo, for whom Brentford were demanding in excess of £50 million earlier in the summer. Without a proper suitor, manager Thomas Frank did express his surprise that no top club came in for the Cameroonian.
However, there have been decent enquiries for the 25-year-old attacker, as Mbeumo will be aware of the growing interest in his signature from top Premier League clubs. Hence, he could leave Brentford next summer, with the Bees reportedly seeking at least £40 million to sell the Cameroonian, although they will block any exit in the January window.
Mbeumo will be in the exact same position as Toney this summer, as the Cameroonian international will enter the final year of his deal. Much like his former strike partner, the 25-year-old might refuse the prospect of extending his deal, as on current terms, a move to another club might be easier than having a few more years on his contract.
Liverpool and Arsenal keen on Mbeumo
Liverpool are interested in Bryan Mbeumo and could be in the market for a top-draw winger next summer if Mohamed Salah leaves the club. The Cameroonian international could be one of the standout candidates to replace the Egyptian, although his arrival will depend on the Merseysiders’ ability to beat off competition.
Speaking of competition, there are a host of sides keen on Mbeumo, with Arsenal probably posting the biggest challenge to Liverpool. The Gunners are still in the market for a top-draw attacker and could see the 25-year-old as a proper candidate to add to Mikel Arteta’s side. For £40 million, he will be someone the North Londoners will try signing, although the chase will pose some significant challenges ahead.
