Chelsea misfit Raheem Sterling could complete a permanent switch to London rivals Arsenal in the summer of 2025.
According to Ben Jacobs via GIVEMESPORT, Raheem Sterling could secure a permanent move to Arsenal next summer. The Chelsea outcast completed a deadline-day loan move to Mikel Arteta’s team, and he is very excited to once again work with the Spanish manager.
While the English international will start as a squad player, he is looking to work his way into a bigger role before eventually securing a permanent move to the North London club in the summer of 2025.
Sterling has joined Arsenal on a temporary basis
Sterling made the move to Chelsea in the summer of 2022. He was one of the initial big money moves of the new ownership. It was considered to be a statement of intent, and the former Manchester City was an important player for them over the last two seasons.
The Englishman finished as the Blues’ third-highest goal scorer last season, having found the back of the net on 10 occasions, and he also had eight assists to his name. While the 29-year-old still had three years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, Enzo Maresca’s arrival saw him go down the pecking order.
He was not going to be an important part of their plans under the Italian manager and was informed to look for a new club. After failing to get him off their books until the very end of the window, the Blues decided to sanction a temporary departure, and Arsenal made the most out of it.
Arsenal could explore a permanent move next summer
Mikel Arteta was keen on more depth on the flanks, and they managed to strike a deal with Chelsea to sign the England international on a temporary basis. While he is yet to make his first-team debut for Arsenal, the 29-year-old was quite excited to reunite with Arteta, having worked with him at Manchester City.
The Gunners have always been on the lookout for opportunities in the window, and they have made the best use of it in the past by signing Leandro Trossard and Jorginho. They feel Sterling could have a similar impact.
While the Englishman is aware of the fact that he might not start all of their important fixtures, he is prepared to work hard and establish himself in their setup. The former Liverpool star’s performances could result in Arsenal exploring a permanent move next summer.
