According to a report from Football Insider, Manchester City are all set to hold talks with their star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne regarding a new deal in the coming weeks. The Belgian international is expected to put pen to paper to extend his stay at the Manchester-based club.
Things might not have worked out for De Bruyne at Chelsea but the move to VfL Wolfsburg helped him revive himself. On the back of an 18-month-long successful stint at the German club, he made the move to Manchester City in the summer of 2015 and hasn’t looked back since.
De Bruyne has been one of the most important players for City under Pep Guardiola. He has been key to all the success they have had in recent seasons. With his contract running out in less than 12 months, there has been a lot of talk about his future.
While the Manchester-based club did consider the idea of extending his stay at the club last season as well, they didn’t go ahead with it as they were not certain about the 33-year-old’s fitness levels following a serious hamstring injury which kept him out for a significant amount of time.

While there is interest in his services from the Saudi Pro League, De Bruyne seems keen on staying at City and is expected to sign the new deal. With the transfer window now over, Guardiola’s team are looking to open contract renewal talks with the 33-year-old in the coming weeks.
They are looking to extend his stay before the turn of the year. Despite his recent contract situation, De Bruyne has made it clear that he hasn’t been involved in talks with any of the interested parties.
