Chelsea is eager to explore a move for LOSC Lille attacker Edon Zhegrova as the club looks to wrap up a deal well before next summer.
According to Fichajes, Edon Zhegrova is Chelsea’s next attacking target ahead of next summer, as they are looking into the possibility of wrapping up a deal early for the winger. The LOSC Lille attacker had a fundamental season in Ligue 1 as the Blues will begin exploring the elements of signing the Kosovan international.
Chelsea are interested in Edon Zhegrova
Chelsea only finished a critical summer window, where they appeared to have their plates full, with plenty of incomings and outgoings. Such has been the theme of their transfer windows under the new ownership, and even this time, it was more chaotic rather than planned executions.
In any case, Chelsea were instrumental in buying a lot of new attackers, with Joao Felix, Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho arriving, with the latter joining from Manchester United on deadline day. These are effectively wide attackers that could be used in slightly different positions depending on how Enzo Views the progressions.
While the dust was only settling on one chaotic window at Stamford Bridge, there are rumours of more activity and pre-planning of some future signings. As per the report, Chelsea are eager to sign LOSC Lille attacker Edon Zhegrova next summer, as they could begin planning on the signing soon.
Fulham were keen on Zhegrova during the deadline day period, but nothing came of it, as Lille wanted to keep hold of the 25-year-old Ligue 1 winger. However, Chelsea could tie up an early deal like they did with Christopher Nkunku to join the following summer, and that could well materialise.
Why are Chelsea eager to sign Oedon Zhegrova?
If the question here is why they re planning on signing him early as opposed to next summer is because they might fear the winger signing a new deal at Lille that could increase his valuation. Second of all, he is someone they might feel will fit into the system of young attackers, and again, the value for money aspect could play a significant role.
The bigger question is whether they need to sign another winger, as they have a plethora of options, including one that has gone on loan to Arsenal and is set to return next summer. On paper, they do not need another wide attacker in their ranks. However, the idea of snapping up an exciting star early to add to the frontline might actually be seen as intelligent business by Chelsea.
