Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have secured the long-term future of their Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson as he agrees a new deal.

According to a report from The Athletic, Nicolas Jackson has agreed to pen down a new deal at Chelsea which will see him stay at the club until 2033. The Blues have rewarded him for the progress he has made since joining the club and in the process, they have secured his long-term future.

Jackson came up the ranks at Villarreal. He got promoted to the Spanish club’s first team in 2022 and had an impressive debut campaign where he scored 13 goals and even bagged five assists in his 38 outings. His impressive performances didn’t go unnoticed and multiple top clubs wanted to prise him away during the 2023 summer transfer window.

Chelsea managed to beat the competition and secured the services of the 23-year-old striker. In his first season with the Premier League outfit, Jackson was involved in 44 matches and he contributed towards 23 goals (17 goals, 6 assists).

While he wasn’t really consistent enough, the Senegalese striker has surely made an impressive start to life in London and he will only get better with time. The Blues wanted to bring in a world-class striker this summer. While they tried everything in their power to make it happen before the end of the window, they couldn’t bring any of their top targets.

Jackson is now expected to be the leader of their attack this season and he has made a strong start with two goals and an assist in his three league outings. While his current contract with the Blues runs until the summer of 2031, he has agreed to pen down a new deal which will further extend his stay at the club.

The Blues’ hierarchy wants to reward the youngster for his performances and they have handed him a new deal that will run until 2033. On top of that, it will have an option to further extend it if needed. Recent reports suggest that they have already secured Cole Palmer’s services for another nine years and with Jackson now agreeing to a new deal, Chelsea seem to be heading towards the right direction.
