Saudi Pro League still plotting Victor Osimhen move

Victor Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Napoli this summer, with Chelsea and the Saudi Pro League in contention to sign him.

Victor Osimhen has failed to secure an exit from Napoli so far after the European summer transfer window closed. The transfer window has closed for Italian clubs, but they can still sell players to foreign clubs where the transfer window remains open. The Nigerian international was heavily linked with Chelsea until the final hours of the summer.

However, the Blues failed to secure an agreement for Osimhen. According to HITC, Saudi Arabian clubs are keen on signing the 25-year-old striker, and they are still looking to secure his services this summer before their transfer window slams shut.

Chelsea needed a quality striker like him leading the line for them and they will be disappointed to have missed out on him. He would have been a major upgrade on Nicolas Jackson, who has been quite underwhelming since joining the club from La Liga.

It will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done in the coming days. Napoli are determined to sell the player, and they have left him out of their domestic and European squads in a bid to force him out of the club. The relationship between the player and the club is damaged beyond the repair, and Osimhen will have to leave the Serie A giants if he wants to play again this season.

Osimhen should have joined a top club

There is no doubt that he is a tremendously talented player with a bright future. the 25-year-old scored 17 goals for Napoli last season, and he could be a top class acquisition for most clubs in the world. A move to Saudi Arabia would certainly be an underwhelming opportunity for him at this stage of his career.

Osimhen is good enough to play for most teams in the world, and he should have joined an elite team in a top European league. The striker is now out of options and it will be interesting to see if he decides to accept a move to Saudi Arabia. He is certainly going to earn a substantial amount of money.

Saudi Arabian clubs have managed to sign top class players in recent years by offering them absurd amounts of money, and they will look to do the same with the Nigerian international. Osimhen is currently one of the best strikers in European football, and he has recently helped Napoli win the league title.
