Chelsea have agreed on a deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on loan.

As per Fabrizio Romano, the 24-year-old winger has given the green light for the move to be completed and an official announcement is expected soon. Chelsea have signed the player on loan for the remainder of the season, and Manchester United have included the obligation to buy clause in his contract.

Sancho will be hoping to get his career back on track with regular game time at London now. He had fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United and he needed to leave in search of ample first-team action.

The winger was on loan at his former club Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season and he was outstanding for them. He helped the German to reach the final of the UEFA Champions League, and he will be hoping to make his mark at Stamford Bridge now.

Jadon Sancho could improve Chelsea

Chelsea need a quality winger who can break down defences with his pace, flair and technical ability. Sancho should be the ideal acquisition for them if he manages to regain his form and confidence.

The England international was regarded as a world class prospect during his time in the Bundesliga and Chelsea should do everything in their power to nurture him into the top class player he can be. If they can unlock his true potential, they could have a star on their hands.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have decided to cut their losses on the player and move on. It will be interesting to see if they decide to invest in another attacker before the window closes. The Red Devils paid a premium for the 24-year-old winger when they signed him from Dortmund, but the transfer has clearly not worked out.

It is the right time for both parties to go their separate ways. Sancho is young enough to improve further and fulfil his tremendous potential and Manchester United will be able to bring in someone who can help them compete at the highest level.
