Chelsea make official offer to sign Jadon Sancho

Chelsea have submitted an official bid for Jadon Sancho to take the Manchester United star on a loan deal for the current season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have made a loan bid to sign Jadon Sancho ahead of the transfer deadline. The 24-year-old Manchester United ace is reportedly open to the move, although there are questions over the structure of the deal and his salary package.

Chelsea make Jadon Sancho bid

Chelsea have remained active on deadline day as they are focused on bringing new attackers before the window shuts tonight. The Blues are pushing hard to get Victor Osimhen and are waiting to strike an agreement on personal terms so as to advance in talks with Napoli for the striker.

Meanwhile, they are also keen on Jadon Sancho, with the 24-year-old Manchester United ace open to the move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have advanced in talks over the last few days and have now made an official bid for the winger to take him on a season-long loan deal.

Juventus had an agreement with Manchester United, and for a period, they looked to have won the race for the winger. However, Sancho has not approved the move, and has been waiting for Chelsea to approach.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s package is slightly higher than what Juventus offered, meaning the Blues will hope to strike an agreement with the Red Devils. With Sancho open to joining the Stamford Bridge outfit, some more questions need answering, which are primarily financial.

Chelsea’s Sancho terms are unclear

Chelsea are looking to add Sancho, but with that, they will also have to pay his massive wages, considering this is not a permanent deal. They are also trying to offload their high-earner Raheem Sterling, who may not join Manchester United despite links.

Much like how Manchester United did during Sancho’s loan spell with Borussia Dortmund, would they cover a chunk of his salary while the winger plays for Chelsea? If so, then the Blues might advance for this move, as they would want the player to fit into their incentive-based wage structure.
