Noni Madueke wants Chelsea stay as Newcastle United consider bid

Newcastle United have received a major setback in their pursuit of Chelsea winger Noni Madueke as he wants to continue at Stamford Bridge.

With less than two weeks to go in the transfer window, Newcastle United are still considering making a big move in this window. According to a report from Fichajes, the Magpies are willing to break the bank to acquire the services of Chelsea sensation Noni Madueke in an attempt to further bolster their attack but the player doesn’t have any intentions to leave.

Madueke parted ways with Tottenham in the summer of 2018 to join PSV Eindhoven’s youth ranks. After making a name for himself while playing for the Dutch club’s youth ranks, he made the move to Chelsea at the start of 2023. While the English youth international has only had a limited amount of game time since moving to Stamford Bridge, he has managed to put in quite a few impressive performances.

Newcastle United to move for Madueke?

While he still has six years left on his deal at the London club, there is interest in his services from Newcastle United, who want to add more firepower to their attack. They are considering making a move for the former PSV star’s services.

Noni Madueke prefers playing out wide on the right, but he is capable enough to feature anywhere in the final third, which could make him an exciting option for Eddie Howe. The 22-year-old could be a great signing for the short as well as the long run.

Meanwhile, the report suggests Chelsea are ready to listen to offers for the services of the English attacker. While they do consider him an exciting prospect, they are willing to cash in on him given the kind of depth they have on the flanks.

Even if Enzo Maresca’s team are ready to negotiate, things are still not going to be easy for Newcastle as the Blues rate him quite highly and would want around €65-70 million for his signature. On top of that, they have already received a major setback as Madueke wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for a place in Marseca’s starting XI.

The Englishman is confident about breaking into the preferred XI and is not looking to leave the club. Since Chelsea are not interested in negotiating a temporary departure, the only way out for Newcastle United is to table a massive bid and then somehow convince the 22-year-old to switch clubs in the Premier League.
