The Magpies are considering the Barcelona defender as an alternative to Marc Guehi and have contacted the Blaugrana to discuss a summer move. While the Danish central defender does not want to leave, the Catalan giants will demand £22-23 million to part ways with him.

Andreas Christensen has established himself as one of the best players in La Liga since joining Barcelona in a Bosman move in July 2022 after his Chelsea contract expired. The Dane has essayed several defensive roles at the Catalan club, even playing as a holding midfielder.

Christensen has turned out 74 times thus far for Barcelona while chipping in with four goals and two assists.
