Chelsea on the verge of signing Victor Osimhen, enter key stages of talks

Chelsea have entered an advanced stage in their negotiations with Napoli for Victor Osimhen, with a sensational player-plus-cash deal in the works.

According to The Sun, Chelsea have entered a critical phase in their negotiations with Napoli for star striker Victor Osimhen. There’s a massive suggestion of a sensational players-plus-cash deal involved in the deal, which could also see the unwanted Belgian forward reunite with Antonio Conte.

Chelsea in advanced negotiations for Victor Osimhen

In the aftermath of the Samu Omorodion deal collapsing, Chelsea have woken up to the prospect of bringing Victor Osimhen. As the deal with the Atletico Madrid star progressed, they were all but out of the running for the Napoli star, but the deal may have resurrected in the background as they are in advanced talks for the Napoli star.

They are reportedly on the verge of signing the striker who scored 17 goals last season for Napoli and making him their marquee arrival this summer. The report highlights how the two clubs are constantly in dialogue, with Napoli director Giovanni Manna already in London for talks

The report states a possible swap deal involving multiple Chelsea players plus cash for Osimhen, including Romelu Lukaku. Overall, the Blues are reportedly sending in players with around £46 million plus £39 million cash for Osimhen, which takes the deal up to £85 million.

The other player might be Cesare Casadei, the Italian midfielder who played under Enzo Maresca at Leicester City on loan last season. There are different options instead of him, as journalist Rudy Galetti even named Kepa Arrizabalaga and Trevoh Chalobah, with the duo not in Chelsea’s plans at the moment.

Will Chelsea sign Osimhen?

At this stage, there’s a high possibility of the Nigerian arriving at Stamford Bridge, although there’s the looming danger of rivals keeping close tabs on his situation. Arsenal are thought to be monitoring his situation and could make a late bid if the conditions are right.

However, Chelsea have a huge bargaining chip in Lukaku, who is desperate to reunite with Napoli boss Antonio Conte. He does not have a future at Stamford Bridge, and should Napoli end up selling Osimhen to another side, Chelsea will make it extremely difficult for the Italians to sign the Belgian.
