Giovanni Manna in England to hash out Victor Osimhen, Romelu Lukaku deals with Chelsea

Napoli Director Giovanni Manna is in England to negotiate the double striker deal involving Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku.

According to HITC, Napoli director Giovanni Manna will try to negotiate a deal with Chelsea involving strikers Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku. The Serie A giants are eager to sign the Belgian, although they will only do that once they manage a deal to sell the Nigerian, with Chelsea open to the prospect.

Giovanni Manna negotiating double striker deal

Chelsea and Napoli are locked in a big striker conundrum ahead of the latter stages of the transfer window. Beginning with the Italian giants are eager to sign unwanted Blues star Romelu Lukaku. But any deal will depend on their ability to sell star forward Victor Osimhen.

Cheslea have stayed in pursuit of Osimhen, and despite his £111 million release clause, they are still trying to find a way to get an agreement in place. Napoli have been adamant about his asking price, although recent reports suggested they could be ready to lower their demands for the Nigerian frontman.

The same goes for Lukaku, who reportedly has a £38 million release clause, which Chelsea are willing to reduce should they manage to strike an agreement with Napoli. The Serie A giants were reportedly £10 million short in their offer for the Belgian as negotiations continue between the two sides.

Napoli director Giovanni Manna is in England to find a way to complete this double-striker deal. He is also talking to other clubs about different players. His priority will be to land Lukaku and ensure a good enough deal to offload Osimhen, preferably Chelsea, as things stand.

Osimhen-Lukaku transfer inching closer

Recent reports pointed at a potential interest from Aston Villa in Lukaku, although the Belgian has been very clear about his intentions to link up with Antonio Conte at Napoli. The Aston Villa stories might have been an effort to add pressure on the Serie A side to get a deal done, and now, with both parties willing to reduce their respective asking rates, a deal might be inching closer.

In Osimhen’s case, the striker is keen on leaving Napoli but does not want to reduce his salary and is not keen on a loan deal of any sort. Hence, Chelsea might have to make a compelling offer on personal terms that may break their wage structure to some extent, although they will undoubtedly improve as a team with the Nigerian frontman leading the line.
