Crystal Palace and newly promoted Premier League club Leicester City are the front-runners to sign Wilfried Zaha, with West Ham United also interested in the 31-year-old.
According to a report by Football Insider, Leicester City and Crystal Palace are interested in signing Wilfried Zaha in the summer transfer window. The 31-year-old forward is also a target for West Ham United. However, the Foxes and the Eagles lead the race to secure the Galatasaray attacker’s services as he looks to return to the Premier League.
Wilfried Zaha and his story so far
Wilfried Zaha was one of the best attackers in the Premier League during his two spells with Crystal Palace. Those two stints sandwiched a disastrous phase with Manchester United, where the former England international was Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signing.
Zaha’s stint with Crystal Palace ended last summer, and he joined Galatasaray in a Bosman move. However, the 31-year-old endured an indifferent campaign, where he was in and out of the starting lineup, although he managed ten goals and five assists in 43 appearances across all competitions. But the Ivory Coast international might return to the Premier League amid his links with Crystal Palace, Leicester City, and West Ham United.
Premier League return on the cards?
Crystal Palace initially mulled over a loan move for the former England international, who has been keen on joining the groomer. However, the latest update has revealed that the Eagles are in the pole position to sign him from Galatasaray before the summer transfer window shuts down.
Meanwhile, Leicester City’s interest in Wilfried Zaha is understandable. Stephy Mavididi is the only recognised left-winger in the newly promoted Premier League club’s offensive unit. So, Zaha has emerged as a viable target, with Leicester City and Crystal Palace the front-runners to sign him from Galatasaray.
However, the two Premier League clubs face stiff competition from West Ham United for the 31-year-old. The East London can do with Wilfried Zaha’s services, considering Lucas Paqueta faces an uncertain long-term future amid his betting scandal.
So, Zaha is an option worth considering for West Ham United. However, it will be interesting to see if the Hammers beat Leicester City and Crystal Palace to the Ivory Coast international before the summer transfer window shuts down.
