Pedro Neto set to join Chelsea, personal terms agreed

Chelsea have struck a deal with Wolves for winger Pedro Neto. The move is all but agreed upon by all parties, including personal terms.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have agreed to sign a deal with Wolves winger Pedro Neto. The London outfit will pay €60 million in fixed fees and a further €3 million in add-ons as Enzo Maresca gets the wide attacker he needs in this window.

Chelsea to sign Pedro Neto

Chelsea have continued to surprise many with their attacking intent in the transfer window and have now made a big signing theirs. The Blues have made a surprise move behind the scenes for Pedro Neto, having agreed to a deal with Wolves for the 24-year-old Premier League winger.

Chelsea will pay €60 million in fixed fees with an additional €3 million in add-ons for the winger as Enzo Maresca gets his hands on a wide attacker he craved. The move might surprise a few, considering the abundance of wingers at Stamford Bridge, although Neto’s arrival could pave the way for one of those current stars to depart.

Noni Madueke remains linked with Newcastle United, and this move could see fruition as Chelsea will look to balance their books with a big sale. Neto’s arrival also leaves a few others uncertain, including the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling, as there are chances either of those could also depart.

As for the Neto deal, it’s a brilliant piece of business by Chelsea, as they have not managed to sign a Premier League-proven winger. Personal terms are also agreed in the background, meaning it’s a matter of the 24-year-old Premier League winger completing his medicals and then signing his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Neto was in demand

Chelsea’s move for Neto might have surprised many who were expecting him to join Arsenal, as the player had wished. Mikel Arteta still wants a wide attacker in his ranks and might have considered the Wolves star as an option, but there are multiple question marks over his fitness record.

The Gunners had also held brief talks, but his price point, which Chelsea are paying, is not where Edu Gaspar valued him. Tottenham were also keen, but they have now decided to spend heavily on a new striker, as Dominic Solanke makes the move to north London from Bournemouth.
