Samu Omorodion agrees personal terms with Chelsea

Chelsea have been linked with a move for 20-year-old Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, with personal terms not an issue.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Chelsea have now agreed personal terms Samu Omorodion. The 20-year-old striker is keen on joining the West London club from La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid, with an agreement on transfer fee likely a formality.

Atletico Madrid are unlikely to sanction his departure for cheap, and Chelsea will have to pay a premium for him. It remains to be seen whether they are ready to break the bank for the young attacker.

Omorodion was on loan at Alaves last season, and he was outstanding for them. The Spanish attacking sensation managed to score nine goals in La Liga. He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and moving to Chelsea will give him that opportunity, which explains his eagerness.

Atletico Madrid are set to sign Julian Alvarez in a big money deal, and the Argentine international will lead the line for them next season alongside Alexander Sorloth. Omorodion will not want to be a backup option, and he should look to leave the Spanish club this summer.

Samu Omorodion would be a quality addition for Chelsea

Regular football in the Premier League would be ideal for him, and it could accelerate his development. The 20-year-old was already an important player for all last season, and he has the quality to succeed in the Premier League as well. The Spaniard has the physicality to adapt to English football, and he could be a key player for Chelsea.

The Blues need a quality centre-forward, and the 20-year-old would be a long-term investment for them. Nicolas Jackson failed to live up to the expectations last season, and Chelsea still need to invest in a reliable goalscorer. Omorodion is more than just a finisher, and he will add a new dimension to their attack with his physicality, aerial prowess, hold up play and technical liability.

The Atletico Madrid striker has all the tools to develop into a complete forward with the right guidance. A move to Chelsea would be the ideal next step in his career. Despite two mediocre seasons, Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they could nurture him into a superstar in the future.
