West Ham United have enquired about Inter Milan defensive sensation Yann Bisseck ahead of a potential move this summer.
According to a report from FC Inter News, West Ham United have taken the initial steps towards signing Yann Bisseck. The German defender’s exceptional rise at Inter Milan has caught the attention of the Hammers, who have knocked on the doors of the Italian club to learn more about a potential transfer.
While things did not work out for Bisseck at FC Koln, a loan move to Aarhus allowed him to make a name for himself. The Danish club signed him permanently in the summer of 2022. Thanks to his consistent performances, Inter Milan prised him away a year later in a deal worth just €7.5 million.
In his debut campaign at the Serie A club, the German centre-back was involved in 21 games and even contributed towards four goals. While he was on the pitch for just over 1,100 minutes, the 23-year-old did manage to put in impressive shifts that helped his team win the Scudetto.
Bisseck’s performances have not gone unnoticed, and he has continued with the good work during the pre-season. He still has four years left on his contract at Inter Milan, and they are quite confident of keeping hold of the German youth international. But, multiple top clubs are willing to try and prise him away from the Italian club.
West Ham keen on Yann Bisseck, Inter won’t sell
Premier League outfit West Ham United are keen on signing the youngster. Julen Lopetegui’s team have already strengthened their backline by signing ex-Wolves skipper Max Kilman. However, their Spanish manager remains eager to bolster the defence, aiming to resolve all defensive issues before the new season begins.
West Ham are interested in the services of Bisseck and have already taken some steps to bring him to London. The Hammers look quite serious about their pursuit and have approached Inter regarding a transfer. However, the Italian outfit has no intention of selling him.
While his price has skyrocketed to €25 million, Inter Milan consider him a part of the long-term plans and do not intend on discussing a potential exit. The player also seems quite keen on staying and fighting for a place in the starting XI. While it does seem to be a tough task to displace Benjamin Pavard, the 23-year-old seems focused on the task at hand.
