Julian Alvarez set for showdown talks with Manchester City this week

Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The 24-year-old will want to play regularly at this stage of his career and the Premier League champions have not been able to provide him with that opportunity. According to CaughtOffside, he will hold showdown talks with the Premier League champions and sort out his future amid links from Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid.

The two European heavyweights are hoping to sign him this summer and it will be interesting to see if Manchester City can convince him to stay. The Argentine international is a phenomenal talent and he has shown his quality for club and country. He has won most major trophies with club and country as well. He needs to play more often at this stage of his career and the likes of Atletico Madrid and PSG would be able to provide him with that opportunity.

The striker has not been able to play regularly for Manchester City in recent seasons. Despite that, he scored 19 goals last season and picked up 13 assists along the way. He was a player for his country when they won the World Cup in 2022 and the COPA America earlier this summer.

Julian Alvarez would be a superb signing

There is no doubt that he is a world class talent and he could develop into one of the best attackers in world football with the right guidance. A move to Atletico Madrid or PSG would be ideal for him.

The Spanish outfit are looking for a quality forward who can lead the line for them and score goals consistently. Alvarez is more than just a goalscorer and he will add creativity to the side as well. Further more, he is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three.

As for PSG, they need a dynamic forward after the departure of Kylian Mbappé and the Manchester City star would be the ideal acquisition. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can convince the Premier League champions to let go of the player this summer. He is currently playing second fiddle to Erling Haaland and the Argentine international will want to join a club where he will be the main man.
