According to Sport, Barcelona still hope to bring Nico Williams to the club despite the many complications surrounding a potential deal. The winger could be open to joining the Catalans, who are yet to figure out the financial commitments required to broker an agreement for the Athletic Club winger.
Barcelona hopeful of Nico Williams deal
The Nico Williams saga could continue to rumble on as Barcelona are yet to figure out a way to sort finances to complete the deal. The Blaugrana are the current favourites to land the winger, but their situation is growing more complicated every day.
PSG hoped to beat Barcelona, but the winger reportedly rejected their advances. The market projections firmly point at the Catalans as the front-runners. Williams has not yet joined Athletic Club training, which has given rise to speculation about his future at the club.
While president Joan Laporta was more than confident of coughing up the money required to sign Nico Williams, they have had a few setbacks in the background, namely with the Libero deal. With the market now in August, there are some doubts brewing, although Deco had been pushing the deal ahead for the winger.
