Nottingham Forest rule out Morgan Gibbs-White sale amid exit links

Morgan Gibbs-White has been linked with a move away from Nottingham Forest in recent months, but they have now ruled out a potential departure this summer.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Nottingham Forest will not sell Morgan Gibbs-White despite interest from fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and Aston Villa in the 24-year-old attacker.

The Englishman enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 campaign, and he scored six goals in all competitions. He managed to pick up ten assists along the way as well. Gibbs-White’s performances have attracted the attention of top Premier League clubs, with Arsenal and Chelsea keen on him. The development will come as a major blow for the two London clubs.

Arsenal could use more creativity and technical ability in the midfield, and Gibbs-White would have been a quality addition. The 24-year-old is versatile enough to slot into multiple attacking roles, and he would have been an asset for Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal need to rotate their squad to keep the key players fresh. They will be competing in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. Having a deeper squad would enhance their chances of winning trophies, and a utility man like Morgan Gibbs-White would have been very useful.

Similarly, Chelsea need more attacking quality in the final third as well. The 24-year-old midfielder would have helped create goalscoring opportunities for his teammates. It will be interesting to see if the two London clubs decide to make a move for him despite Nottingham Forest’s stance. They could look to test the Premier League club’s resolve with a lucrative proposal.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United want Gibbs-White

Aston Villa have secured UEFA Champions League qualification, and they needed quality squad to do well in the league as well as in Europe. The 24-year-old midfielder would have been quality addition for them. Morgan Gibbs-White has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in the Champions League, and he could have been a key player for Unai Emery in the attack.

Newcastle need to add more cutting edge to the side as well and showed interest in Gibbs-White. They were overly dependent on Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak for goals and creativity last season. The Magpies need to bring in more quality in the attacking unit and Morgan Gibbs-White could have transformed them.

The 24-year-old is well settled in English football, and he could have made an instant impact at Newcastle United. It will be interesting to see if any of the four clubs decide to come forward with an official proposal to sign the midfielder.
